About The Position

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach the course FUND. OF CYBERSECURITY (MIA5310, Section B) for the Fall 2026 semester. This is an online course with an expected enrollment of 30 students. The position is governed by the current APTPUO collective agreements. Requirements

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Digital Transformation and Innovation, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity threats, security policies and governance, encryption methods, user authentication and authorization, and the protection of networks, operating systems, applications, and databases.
Experience with network security tools.
Competence in a second language (active).

Nice To Haves

Recent industry experience applying cybersecurity techniques to real-world challenges.
Experience teaching related courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Strong academic background with published research in reputable peer-reviewed journals or conferences in the field of cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

Teach the course FUND. OF CYBERSECURITY (MIA5310, Section B) online.
Deliver instruction in English.
Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
