About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Analyse, écriture et argumentation I (FRA1710 Section C) during the Fall 2026 semester. The course involves the lecture and analysis of works from different literary genres and themes relevant to contemporary issues. Students will practice writing through exercises such as summarizing and analytical reports, and common grammatical errors will be addressed. This section is delivered in person, with a three-hour weekly class session, and utilizes a "flipped classroom" pedagogical approach. Students are first exposed to theoretical content through self-directed activities, followed by a structured lecture to clarify and deepen understanding. The course plan, including texts, session structure, and theoretical content, is predetermined. A professor's guide will be available. Professors are required to use the Brightspace "toolkit" developed by the Department and SAEA, and adhere to all points in the Guide to ensure uniformity in evaluations and adherence to the established schedule. Professors are responsible for a portion of the grading, supervising teaching assistants' grading, and overseeing TAs during exams. Typical tasks include preparing PowerPoints, explanatory documents, answer keys, participating in coordination team discussions, and managing a high volume of emails. The role requires strong collaboration skills within the pedagogical team, especially given tight deadlines. Proficiency with communication and teaching tools (TEAMS, Microsoft Outlook, ZOOM, Brightspace, EXCEL, etc.) is expected or a willingness to acquire it. Professors must be on-site as the course is in-person.
