This section is taught in person (but part of the course is available on Brightspace), with a weekly three-hour class session. The course adopts a "flipped classroom" pedagogy and promotes active learning by first exposing students to theoretical content through activities that allow them to grasp the concepts. These activities are followed by a structured lecture, during which the concepts are clarified and deepened. The course plan (texts studied, session structure, and theoretical content) is predetermined. A guide for professors will be available before the start of the session. Professors teaching this course must use the Brightspace "toolkit" designed by the Department and SAEA and commit to respecting all points of the Guide for Faculty, thus ensuring the uniformity of evaluations and strict adherence to the pre-established schedule for all sections. Professors are responsible for part of the grading (according to established rules), supervising the grading done by teaching assistants, and supervising teaching assistants during exam invigilation. Professors will have to complete usual tasks (preparing PowerPoints, explanatory documents, answer keys, participating in coordination team discussions, etc.) and will need to be able to manage a high volume of emails (with students, teaching assistants, the coordinator, and other professors teaching the same course). The course requires good collaboration skills with the entire teaching team in a context where deadlines can be very tight. Certain communication and teaching tools are preferred (TEAMS, Microsoft Outlook, ZOOM, Brightspace, EXCEL, etc.) and require acquired competence or the willingness to acquire it. Professors must be on-site as the course is taught in person.
