About The Position

Analysis of demographic phenomena (mortality, fertility, migration) as social facts, taking into account the institutional dimension in the dynamics of gender and intergenerational social relationships. Socio-demographic approach to understand and analyze major contemporary social transformations at different scales (international, national, local, community).

Requirements

  • PhD in sociology.
  • Track record demonstrating expertise in the field of Sociology of Populations through previous teaching experience in the same or similar course at the graduate level or through publications in the field.
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

  • Competence in a second language (passive).

Responsibilities

  • Teaching Sociology of Populations (SOC4103 Section A00) during the 2027 Winter Semester.
  • Conducting analysis of demographic phenomena (mortality, fertility, migration) as social facts.
  • Considering the institutional dimension in the dynamics of gender and intergenerational social relationships.
  • Applying a socio-demographic approach to understand and analyze major contemporary social transformations at different scales (international, national, local, community).
