About The Position
The Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach MAT1308, Introduction to Calculus, during the Fall 2026 semester. This course covers the review of elementary functions, introduction to limits, geometric series, and an introduction to differential and integral calculus in one variable with applications, including linear approximations and optimization. The expected enrollment is 125 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The language of instruction is English.
Requirements
- PhD in mathematics.
- Expert level knowledge of LaTeX (the universal mathematical editor).
- Must coordinate (across all sections).
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
- Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
