About The Position

This course, SOC3120 A00, focuses on Sociological Theory: Power and Inequalities. It examines how social relations are structured and contested, and the hierarchies and subjectivities they produce. The course reviews sociological theories to understand power, inequality, and resistance at individual, group, and global levels. Themes include class, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, and race dynamics, as well as the relationships and tensions between these theories. The position is limited to a Regular Part-Time Professor.

Requirements

  • M.A. in sociology and completed sociology Ph.D. coursework or a more advanced training in sociology.
  • Demonstrable track record of expertise in the field of sociological Theory: Power and Inequalities, evidenced by previous teaching experience in the same or similar course or through publications in the field.
  • Ability to teach in English.
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.

  • Competence in a second language (passive).
