About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach DLS 4104: Curriculum and Teaching Materials in Second Language Education during the Fall 2026 semester. The course focuses on the foundations of curriculum and principles of curriculum development in Second Language Education (SLE), including analysis of SLE curricula, development and adaptation of syllabi, lesson planning, teaching materials with subject integration, assessment, and critical analysis of teaching materials. The course is offered in person and requires competence in English as the language of instruction, with passive competence in a second language.

Requirements

Possess a doctorate (or be completing a doctorate) in Second Language Education.
Have academic and professional publications in the field of study over the past 5 years.
Possess professional experience facilitating online courses and/or as a second language teacher (in Canada and/or abroad).
Demonstrate expertise in this field.
Provide evidence of teaching effectiveness at the university level, as evidenced by recent course evaluations or equivalents.
Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Nice To Haves

Experience in training (future) second language teachers is an asset.
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
