About The Position

A critical examination of the powerful cultural taboos against aging that characterize contemporary society. This inter-generational course will explore diverse age-positive cultural perspectives on life. Students will engage in reflection, discussion and contemplative practices as strategies to embrace changes that are an inevitable part of life.

Requirements

  • Experience of successfully teaching university-level content in the field of Contemplative/Aging/End-of-Life Studies.
  • Competence in English instruction.
  • Completion of all mandatory legislated training.
  • Ability to work in a bimodal teaching mode.
  • Co-teaching with another instructor.

Nice To Haves

  • Instructor whose own research is within, or closely related to the field of contemplative studies.
  • Relevant scholarly research and publications.
  • Training in meditation/mindfulness practice.

Responsibilities

  • Co-teach the course 'Mindful Aging' (AHL3180 Section AA00/AV00).
  • Engage students in reflection, discussion, and contemplative practices.
  • Embrace changes that are an inevitable part of life through course content and practices.
