About The Position

The Faculty of Arts at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Introduction to Jewish Canadian Studies (JCS2301 Section A00) during the Fall 2026 semester. This multidisciplinary course provides an overview of Jewish Canadian Studies across history, literature, sociology, and general culture. The course is scheduled for Tuesdays from 19:00 to 22:00 via web conference. The University of Ottawa is committed to diversity, inclusion, and creating a barrier-free work environment. Requirements

Ph.D. in a relevant field
Research profile in the area of Jewish Canadian Studies
Experience in teaching courses on Jewish culture
Expertise in the course topic (Introduction to Jewish Canadian Studies)
Competence in English (language of instruction)
Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training

An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

Teach Introduction to Jewish Canadian Studies (JCS2301 Section A00)
