About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Therapeutics Interventions I (Theory) (NSG 5380) during the 2026 Fall Semester. The course focuses on critically appraising and interpreting concepts and frameworks integral to pharmacotherapy, advanced counseling, and complementary therapies for common conditions across the lifespan. The professor will develop, initiate, manage, and evaluate therapeutic plans of care incorporating client values, goals of therapy, analysis of different approaches, and pharmacotherapeutic principles. The course is taught in English, with passive competence in a second language required. Seminars are delivered in person on campus, and the expected enrollment is 15 students. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) Diploma
  • Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing Science
  • Active registration and license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • 3–5 years of recent experience as an NP in primary health care
  • Availability to teach the clinical portion of the course (applicants must apply to both theory and clinical postings).
  • Successful completion of mandatory legislated training.
  • An acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent to the stated educational requirements.

  • Experience in clinical supervision of NP students
  • Experience teaching at the Master’s level

Responsibilities

  • Teach the theory portion of the course.
  • Be available for orientation on September 2, 2026.
  • Potentially teach the clinical portion of the course (applicants must apply to both theory and clinical postings).

Benefits

  • Hourly rate for teaching: $239.47 (2024-2025)
  • Vacation pay and statutory pay are not included in the hourly rate.
