About The Position
This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position in the Faculty of Arts, Department of Classics and Religious Studies, for the course SRS3113: Religion and Cinema during the Fall 2026 semester. The course will study religious traditions as depicted in films, analyzing existential problems often addressed by religion through a selection of films. The language of instruction is English.
Requirements
- M.A. in Religious Studies or equivalent.
- Expertise in course topic required.
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
- Employees are under provincial law required to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
- All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
Responsibilities
- Teach the course SRS3113: Religion and Cinema.
- Analyze religious traditions as depicted in films.
- Analyze existential problems with which religion is often occupied through a selection of films.
