About The Position

Babylist is seeking a Registry Specialist for its NYC Showroom. This role involves being an in-house baby gear expert, guiding expecting parents through registry building, and acting as a senior presence on the showroom floor. The Registry Specialist will also be responsible for daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, and will coach newer showroom staff. This is a hands-on, full-time, on-site position for individuals passionate about baby gear and supporting families.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of baby gear.
  • Experience guiding parents through registry or gear decisions for two or more years.
  • 2+ years of retail or guest service experience, ideally in a relationship-building setting.
  • Strong, empathetic in-person communication skills.
  • Ability to coach and support a team.
  • Comfortable owning showroom operations, including open/close procedures and security protocols.
  • Ability to manage multiple customers simultaneously.
  • Availability to work weekends.
  • Flexible team player who welcomes feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Lead registry consultations as the in-house product expert, guiding parents and gift-givers through registry building.
  • Drive registry value through thoughtful "Add to Registry" and purchase recommendations.
  • Shape how the Babylist brand shows up in person at the NYC Showroom.
  • Coach and support showroom and pop-up staff on product knowledge, safety, and guest experience.
  • Own opening, closing, and security for the showroom and pop-up spaces.
  • Partner with the Showroom Manager to keep the space energetic, on-brand, and welcoming.
