About The Position

Kirby Medical Center is seeking an outgoing, driven individual to join its registration team. This high customer-focused position works directly with patients to register them for care at the facility. The role is based in Monticello, Illinois, in the Admitting department, and is full-time at 40 hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with rotating holiday work beginning in 2027. The hourly rate is $16.05–$18.43, with compensation dependent on experience.

Requirements

• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent patient interaction skills.

Nice To Haves

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Health insurance knowledge is a plus.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls professionally and direct them to the proper department.
• Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity and ensure confidentiality of patient records.
• Register patients for scheduled admissions, outpatient procedures, and emergency visits.
• Collect and correctly document insurance information.
• Collect co-pays when appropriate.
• Demonstrate flexibility and organization, and function well in stressful situations.
