The Registrar position is a full-time, onsite role within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle department at Navicent Medical Center GA. The hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. This role is responsible for performing all job duties in a way that conforms to the customer service philosophy and consistent with "AIDET" standards, including greeting patients, explaining services, providing information on wait times, and explaining the need for demographic and financial information. Key responsibilities include identifying insurance coverage, benefits, patient out-of-pocket expenses, collecting co-insurance and co-payments, confirming coverage using electronic systems, resolving eligibility issues, screening uninsured patients for urgent cases, following charity procedures, referring patients for financial counseling, screening orders for compliance, working with physicians and care coordinators to resolve issues, and obtaining security authorization and precertification for services. The Registrar also notifies relevant departments about uninsured patients or those with specific insurance types, maintains knowledge of computer software for eligibility verification, identifies at-risk balances related to Medicare and Medicaid, communicates authorization issues to patients, collects and analyzes clinical data for prior authorization, and stays current with insurance requirements and federal/state regulations. Additionally, the role ensures accurate entry of patient demographic and insurance information, pre-registers and registers patients, educates patients on documents, manages calls for pre-registrations, and generates/processes required documents. The Registrar participates in departmental team building, in-services, and assists leaders with special assignments. For offsite imaging centers, additional duties include performing CPOE, light cleaning of changing areas, printing and distributing results CDs, and escorting patients to changing areas.
