About The Position

Veterinary Urgent Care of the Desert is seeking a passionate and talented Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join their state-of-the-art Urgent Care and Surgery facility in Palm Desert, California. The facility aims to bridge the gap between general practice and emergency medicine, acting as a resource when primary care is not available, while maintaining the veterinarian-client-patient relationship. Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with an active California license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience, ideally in Urgent Care or Emergency medicine.
  • Consistently displays a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and accountability.
  • High emotional intelligence, empathy, and maturity.
  • Committed to providing the highest quality patient care.
  • Performs well in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to commute or relocate to Palm Desert, CA 92211.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all California RVT medical-related job abilities.
  • Assist Care Coordinators with answering phones, using a professional and compassionate tone.
  • Work with technology to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Act as a liaison between doctors, clients, and patients.
  • Obtain client and patient information for medical records.
  • Send messages to clients as needed.
  • Keep in consistent contact with in-hospital team members (via chat and/or phones).
  • Maintain the flow of each patient visit, understanding where each patient is during every step of the visit process, and consistently keeping clients updated.
  • Assist with performing daily callbacks to check on patients and answer client questions.
  • Assist all other healthcare team members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed/assigned.
