About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for their Animal Health Clinic in Baton Rouge, LA. This position is for a community-minded small animal practice that values credentialed technicians as clinical drivers of patient care. Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Louisiana RVT state license.
  • Experience in anesthesia and analgesia, including full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Experience in dentistry, including full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy.
  • Experience in diagnostics, including high-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
  • Experience in nursing and triage, including critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.

Responsibilities

  • Work to the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader.
  • Ensure medical excellence with a patient-first mindset.
  • Utilize skills in anesthesia and analgesia, including full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Perform dentistry procedures such as full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
  • Conduct diagnostics including high-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
  • Provide nursing and triage care, including critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
  • Lead tech appointments and team huddles.
  • Mentor assistants and externs.
