Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
About The Position
Destination Pet is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for their Animal Health Clinic in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is for a community-minded small animal practice that values credentialed technicians as clinical drivers of patient care. The RVT will serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset, following AAHA utilization guidance.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid Louisiana RVT state license.
Responsibilities
- Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
- Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
- Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
- Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
- Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.
