About The Position

Urban Vet Care is a privately owned, six-doctor, AAHA-accredited small-animal practice in Denver’s Highlands neighborhood. The practice is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician with surgical experience to join its surgical team and help provide compassionate, high-quality medical and surgical care. The modern facility offers services including wellness care, dentistry, radiology, in-house laboratory and pharmacy services, surgery, ultrasound, laser therapy, and acupuncture. The role supports veterinarians in delivering medical services to animals. Work includes routine veterinary procedures, client communication, medication administration, laboratory and pharmacy tasks, and preparation and assistance for surgery, dentistry, and radiography. Full-time staff work a four-day week, with regular hours and weekends and evenings off.

Requirements

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) qualification.
Surgical experience.
Strong knowledge of animal care and handling techniques.
Proficiency in routine veterinary procedures.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and veterinary team members.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

Perform routine procedures, including vaccinations, blood draws, and supporting exam-room flow.
Communicate with clients and assist with laboratory and pharmacy tasks.
Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
Prepare animals for soft-tissue surgeries and assist during surgical procedures.
Assist with dental cleanings and radiographs.
