About The Position

Highland Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join their team in Fayetteville, NC. This is a full-time position with a pay range of $17-$25/hour. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of veterinary experience, strong surgical and technical skills, and a passion for excellent patient and client care. The practice is a busy small animal hospital offering comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive care, with a diverse caseload that provides opportunities for professional growth.

Requirements

Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in North Carolina, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Strong surgical skills, including surgical preparation and assisting.
Experience with anesthesia induction, intubation, monitoring, and recovery.
Strong animal handling and restraint skills with knowledge of clinical procedures.
Proficiency in venipuncture, blood draws, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and vaccines.
Experience with digital radiology, including proper patient positioning.
Ability to obtain accurate medical histories and maintain detailed patient records.
Excellent client communication, education, organization, and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

5+ years of veterinary experience preferred.
Veterinary dentistry experience is preferred, but not required.
Dentistry experience, including scaling and polishing, preferred.
Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry.
Prepare patients for surgery and assist with anesthesia, monitoring, and recovery.
Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
