About The Position
The Pet Hospital of Tierrasanta is seeking a Part-Time Registered Veterinary Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and being part of a fun, supportive team. Responsibilities include rooming patients, surgical assisting, drawing blood, running bloodwork, venipuncture, restraint, knowledge of x-ray and proper positioning, proper animal handling and restraint, client education, and being a positive team member. The hospital is a 3-doctor practice open Monday-Saturday, aiming to provide excellent quality medicine and compassionate care with personalized service and a friendly, professional work environment.
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician, the license must be current
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories

Responsibilities

- Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
- TPR
- Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
- Excellent client communication/education
