About The Position

Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, the Registered Vascular Technician performs non-invasive vascular tests to assist physicians in diagnosing disorders of the Vascular System. This role also involves performing related clerical duties and providing care to adult and geriatric patients.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Nursing or an allied health science (cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or the like) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be a Registered Vascular Technologist through the American Society of the Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Advanced knowledge of vascular diseases and the ability to apply vascular disease theory is required to determine the appropriateness of tests being requested
A level of interpersonal skills sufficient to explain procedures to patients and/or families, allay apprehension, obtain medical information and relay pertinent information to physicians
Knowledge of patient care techniques and methods generally acquired through 12 months related patient care experience
Knowledge of techniques of vascular testing and equipment operation, acquired through an additional 8 months non-invasive testing experience
