Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of approved JRC program.
  • Holds current BLS CPR Card
  • Attends education programs as described by department policy
  • Participates in staff meeting and stays abreast of change in policies, procedures and technical advancements.
  • Employs safe operation principles of ultrasound equipment.
  • Knowledge of hospital procedures including infection control
  • Skills include accuracy in patient positioning and scientific application of established technical factors
  • Interact with patients, physicians and co-workers on a professional level that promotes the well being of the patient and teamwork among the healthcare providers
  • Employs proper body mechanic techniques for the transportation, transfer and positioning of patients and equipment
  • This caregiver provides service to all age groups
  • RDMS General Orientation: Orientation to provide understanding of existing hospital and departmental policies and procedures as well as the values and requirements of Mercy Health Partner’s Mission Services.
  • Work is performed in demanding, fast paced imaging area moving between one imaging area or modality to another based upon departmental needs, with possible exposure to contagious disease and human body fluids.
  • Standing, walking , pushing, pulling, stooping and lifting required
  • Routine leadership required for participation in the student sonography program if applicable.
  • Leadership required for inventory and ordering supplies for patient scheduling and organization of the work for the day in the ultrasound area.
