Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0.01 Work Shift: Days/Evenings (United States of America) Minimum of 2 shifts per Month THIS IS A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT POSITION Under general supervision, and according to established policies and procedures, performs non-invasive vascular tests to assist physicians in diagnosing disorders of the Vascular System. Performs related clerical duties. Provides care to adult and geriatric patients. Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing or an allied health science (cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or the like) or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required for extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology as well as specific vascular anatomy and physiology. Must be a Registered Vascular Technologist through the American Society of the Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Advanced knowledge of vascular diseases and the ability to apply vascular disease theory is required to determine the appropriateness of tests being requested. A level of interpersonal skills sufficient to explain procedures to patients and/or families, allay apprehension, obtain medical information and relay pertinent information to physicians is required. A level of knowledge of patient care techniques and methods generally acquired through 12 months related patient care experience is required. Knowledge of techniques of vascular testing and equipment operation, acquired through an additional 8 months non-invasive testing experience, is also required.
