About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory therapy to patients in critical and emergency care settings at a 266-bed hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. The therapist administers aerosol treatments, manages BiPAP and ventilator settings, and participates in interdisciplinary rounds and daily patient assessments. The role rotates across inpatient units and involves close collaboration with nursing and other clinical disciplines. Weekend rotations may include Level 2 NICU and pediatric care. The department has a 30-person respiratory therapy team and uses equipment including Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, Vapotherm, Phillips V60+, and Siemens EPOC bedside ABG analyzers. The facility uses Meditech for documentation and requires scrubs and use of AIDET for patient interactions.

Requirements

• Experience in ICU, ER, and critical adult care.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
• Advanced skills in intubation, arterial line insertion, and bedside bronchoscopy assistance.
• Use of AIDET.
• Required uniform: scrubs.
• Work a minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends.
