About The Position
The Surgical Technologist works in an operating room caring for patients across a wide range of specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, plastic surgery, urology, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, ophthalmic surgery, gynecology, ear, nose, and throat (ENT), thoracic surgery, oral-maxillofacial surgery, and trauma at a Level 1 Trauma Center. The operating room has two Da Vinci surgical robots used for various procedures. The transplant program includes liver, kidney, and heart transplants. The position requires 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, evenings, and nights. Full-time hours are available, with an option to accommodate 48 hours per week.
Requirements
- NBSTSA certification, or equivalent experience as a Surgical Technologist in a healthcare facility for a cumulative period of at least one year within the four years immediately prior to January 2015.
- At least two years of relevant experience.
- Able to perform scrubbing duties.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
