About The Position

The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs Cardiopulmonary duties in accordance with hospital policy and procedure under general supervision. Duties can include administering respiratory treatments, airway management, ventilator management, blood gases, and other noninvasive cardiology procedures. The therapist is expected to provide a high level of customer service, actively participate in continuous quality improvement, and serve as a resource to other employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of related experience.
• Working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential.
• Respiratory Care Professional credential.
• Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
• Must become certified in PALS and ACLS within 8 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory treatments.
• Provide airway management.
• Manage ventilators.
• Perform blood gases and other noninvasive cardiology procedures.
• Represent a high level of customer service.
• Participate in the continuous quality improvement process.
• Serve as a resource to other employees.
