About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist for its Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital campus in New York, NY. Under the direction of a licensed physician, the therapist performs respiratory treatments, therapies, and invasive and non-invasive procedures. The role also includes clinically supervising and monitoring Respiratory Technicians’ activities within the scope of licensure. The therapist assists with transportation of intubated pediatric patients, with special emphasis on maintaining airways and providing adequate ventilation and oxygenation. The role assesses respiratory therapy modalities and recommends appropriate changes and improvements to respiratory care delivery. This is a full-time position on a 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. day-flex schedule, with weekend and holiday coverage. The position requires on-site presence, and employees should live within commuting distance; travel expenses are not reimbursed.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy.
- Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of hospital-based experience.
- Pediatric experience.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certifications from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
