About The Position

This position is for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at a hospital located in Asheville, NC. The hospital has 854 beds and 120 staff members. The role involves providing respiratory care to adult, NICU, and pediatric patients. The therapist will work with a variety of equipment and an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work under pressure, and be willing to float to critical care units and floors as needed. Weekend availability is required.

Requirements

• North Carolina Respiratory License
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• Must be available to work varying weekends, with at least 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule.
• Must be willing to float to all critical care units and floors as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to adult, NICU, and pediatric patients.
• Operate and manage various respiratory equipment including GE R860 Adult ventilators, Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators, Newport HT70 transport ventilator, V60 Non-invasive devices, and Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices.
• Utilize the Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Perform various respiratory procedures relevant to both adult and pediatric populations.
• Float to all critical care units and floors as needed.
