About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist II is responsible for medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on advanced knowledge and experience. This role involves the evaluation-and-treat process and delivering care to complex patients in critical care settings.

Requirements

• Substantial knowledge and experience in respiratory therapy, particularly in complex and critical care environments.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work well within a team.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory medications and implement appropriate care plans.
• Provide patient care in critical care areas with a focus on protocol ventilator management.
• Exercise independent decision-making and self-direction in patient management.
• Educate patients, families, and support systems about respiratory care techniques.
• Coordinate activities and collaborate with fellow healthcare team members.
• Participate in staff development and training of new employees.
• Engage in professional and self-development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Deliver patient care with an understanding of specific population needs, addressing biological, emotional, developmental, and psychosocial aspects, as well as patient and family education needs.
