Requirements

Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset.
Strong drive, respect, and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role.
Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft office applications.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Deliver a great customer service experience by demonstrating compassion and empathy towards residents, family members, and the team.
Embrace a holistic, resident-centric approach to care by delivering personalized services at the highest quality.
Provide planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards of care.
Build trusted relationships with residents, families, and teams through continuous and effective communication.
Implement and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and make changes as required.
Complete and ensure resident's clinical care assessments, care plans, and documentation are accurate and up-to-date, communicating changes as required.
Teach, delegate, and direct unregulated care providers, providing them with coaching and mentorship.
