The Inpatient Unit (IPU) is committed to our Nursing Professional Practice Model, believing in caring relationships with patients, families, community, and colleagues to provide exceptional care. On the IPU, dedicated nursing staff, nurse leaders, interdisciplinary team members, and physician partners practice on a critical access hospital unit. Specialized medical/nursing care is provided to acute patients, and rehabilitative care is provided to swing bed patients. Medical diagnoses for acute care patients include pneumonia, heart failure, cellulitis, and urinary tract infections. Rehabilitative services for swing bed patients include physical/occupational/speech therapy, wound care management, nutritional therapy, and IV antibiotic therapy. Care is provided by a highly-trained staff utilizing current technology and equipment. The IPU is fast-paced, exciting, and always evolving. The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the institution's philosophy.
