About The Position

Beacon Behavioral Hospital, a leading behavioral health program in Louisiana with over 20 years of experience, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN). Beacon operates multiple locations across southeast Louisiana, offering inpatient programs and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for individuals struggling with emotional disorders, substance abuse, and mental disorders. Requirements

• Registered Nurse Licensure in the state of operation.
• A Bachelor’s, Associate degree or diploma in nursing with documented evidence of educational program focused on treating psychiatric patients.
• At least 2 years of nursing experience, 1 year of which was providing nursing care to the mentally ill, OR receive regular documented supervision/consultation from a Master’s prepared psychiatric nurse.
• Certification in Basic Life Support required.
• Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Function as the Charge Nurse, responsible for nursing care and supervision of LPNs, CNAs and Mental Health Technicians.
• Assure that care provided demonstrates the ANA standards for care and utilizes evidence-based practice.
• Collaborate in the development and implementation of the treatment program, including individual Plans of Care.
• Serve as the Medication Nurse as needed and assist LPNs and all staff as needed.
• Assist the DON as the liaison between the program staff and medical staff.
• Work within established budget and staffing guidelines.
• Participate in Performance Improvement by engaging in the plan, study, do act cycle of improvement.
• Serve as a role model to others of professionalism, positive attitude, and excellent patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.
