Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Medicine/Oncology Unit
About The Position
Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for their Medicine/Oncology Unit. This is a temporary full-time, 14-week assignment on the day shift. The unit is a varied Med/Surg mixed unit caring for patients with various medical conditions including oncological, CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Sickle Cell, and end-of-life care. Nurses will gain experience in procedures such as wound vacs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, and peritoneal dialysis. The department encourages staff involvement in hospital committees and values teamwork and new ideas.
Requirements
- Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required.
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- NIH stroke scale certification.
- Two or more years of current acute care hospital experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients on a varied Med/Surg mixed unit, including oncological patients and those with conditions such as CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Sickle Cell, and end-of-life care.
- Become knowledgeable in procedures such as wound vacs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, and peritoneal dialysis.
- Participate in hospital committees to share ideas and improve patient care.
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to a supportive and innovative department environment.
