About The Position

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for their Medicine/Oncology Unit. This is a 14-week temporary full-time assignment on the night shift. The unit is a varied Med/Surg mixed unit caring for patients with various conditions including oncological, CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Sickle Cell, and end-of-life care. Nurses on this unit become knowledgeable in procedures such as wound vacs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, and peritoneal dialysis. The department encourages staff involvement in hospital committees and values teamwork and new ideas.

Requirements

Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree, or diploma in the Nursing Field.
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
NIH stroke scale certification.
Two or more years of current acute care hospital experience.

Responsibilities

Provide care for patients with oncological conditions.
Care for patients with CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Sickle Cell, and end-of-life needs.
Perform procedures such as wound vacs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, and peritoneal dialysis.
Participate in hospital committees.
Contribute to a team-oriented environment.
