About The Position

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse for their Medicine/Oncology Unit. This is a temporary, full-time, 14-week assignment on the day shift. The unit is a varied Med/Surg mixed unit that cares for patients with various medical conditions including oncological, CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Sickle Cell, and end-of-life care. Nurses on this unit become knowledgeable in procedures such as wound vacs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, and peritoneal dialysis. The department encourages teamwork and welcomes new ideas, with opportunities to join hospital committees.

Requirements

Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required.
Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
NIH stroke scale certification.
Two or more years of current acute care hospital experience.

Responsibilities

Caring for patients with oncological conditions.
Caring for patients with CHF, COPD, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Diabetes, Sickle Cell, and end-of-life care.
Performing procedures such as wound vacs, high-risk medication infusions, telemetry, trach care, chest tubes, and peritoneal dialysis.
Participating in hospital committees.
Collaborating with team members and contributing new ideas.
