About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the 24-bed Cardiac Tele PCU at Texas Health Dallas, a post-interventional unit combined with medical telemetry. The unit provides comprehensive post-interventional cardiac care from admission through discharge and specializes in cardiovascular patients, including those with heart failure, AMI, arrhythmias, and patients receiving care before or after catheterization, ablation, or pacemaker procedures. The role is full time, working days from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for 36 hours per week, with weekend and holiday requirements. Self-scheduling is available. The nurse practices within the Texas Nurse Practice Act and serves as a role model, interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator of quality patient care. Texas Health Dallas is an 875-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital serving the Dallas community since 1966.

Requirements

A nursing diploma or an associate degree from an accredited nursing program.
One year of experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
Practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Experience in PCU, step-down intermediate care, or cardiac telemetry is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver patient care utilizing the Nursing Process.
Assess patients.
Plan patient care.
Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
Incorporate age-specific safety and infection-control measures into patient care.
Initiate action to meet patients’ and/or significant others’ information needs.
Maintain continuity of patient care across shifts and hospitals, and while expediting transfers out of the hospital.
Practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
Serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care.
