About The Position

St. Luke’s is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Medical/Surgical team on 4S at the Boise Medical Center. Four South Oncology is a 24-bed medical/surgical oncology unit caring for patients across the cancer continuum, from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life care. It is home to Idaho’s only autologous and allogeneic blood and bone marrow transplant program and, since 2022, CAR-T cell therapy. The team emphasizes mutual support, shared learning, and patient and family advocacy. Nurses can develop oncology expertise through opportunities in cancer basics, chemotherapy administration, blood and bone marrow transplant and CAR-T cell therapy, supportive care, adolescent oncology, and outpatient infusion. Patients are high acuity, with typical RN-to-patient ratios of 1:3 or 1:4. The unit provides experience with central lines, lab monitoring, and treatment of critical electrolyte imbalances and blood cell counts. Additional opportunities include biennial oncology and stem cell transplant conferences, cross-training to a connected outpatient unit, and leadership opportunities to advance oncology care. The role offers a self-scheduling model and access to scholarships for continuing education, conferences, certifications, and licensure. Night-shift opportunities are available from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; the position is listed as night, rotating, and shift differentials are offered for nights and weekends. Night-shift employees accrue additional PTO. Certification pay is available for national certifications. The role requires a nursing degree, at least one year of RN experience, current RN licensure in the state of practice, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) provider certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. St. Luke’s offers a robust benefits package, competitive salary and retirement plans, and wellness and career-development resources. Eligible new full-time and part-time hires may receive a sign-on bonus, and eligible full-time new hires may receive additional relocation assistance.
