Registered Nurse (RN) - Neuroscience Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) - Part Time
About The Position
Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuro Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. The part-time position is for night shifts, with weekend nights also listed as an option. The Neuro IMCU cares for neuroscience patients, including stroke patients, back and neck postsurgical patients, epilepsy patients, and patients undergoing brain, pituitary, and other neurosurgeries. The unit also includes an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The RN provides competent nursing care using the nursing process and applies clinical knowledge and skills to meet the standards required for the clinical area. Nursing practice includes assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance includes ethical and culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. An RN degree and Virginia RN license are required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire; prior RN experience is preferred. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 may be available to qualified candidates, and relocation packages are available. The listed full-time base pay range is $41.93–$61.01 per hour; compensation for this part-time position is not specified. Additional compensation may include shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonuses. Requirements
