Registered Nurse (RN) - Neuroscience Intermediate Care Unite (IMCU)
About The Position
Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) at Sentara Norfolk General's Neuro Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Norfolk, Virginia. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is offered for qualified candidates, and relocation packages are available. This is a full-time, permanent position with a Weekend Nights shift (7p-7a) on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The Neuro IMCU is a blended unit that focuses on all neuro patients, including stroke patients, back and neck post-surgical patients, and has one of the few Epilepsy Monitoring Units (EMU) in the area. The unit provides highly skilled care to neuroscience patients including back and neck surgical patients, epilepsy patients, all neurosurgeries (brain, pituitary, etc.), and stroke patients (surgical and non-surgical). The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. All Direct Care RNs are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
Requirements
- RN Degree REQUIRED
- Virginia RN License REQUIRED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire

- Prior RN experience PREFERRED
