About The Position

The Staff Pad is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) for a high-acuity Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) at a respected regional hospital in Wausau, WI. If you’re an RN who wants to move beyond traditional med-surg nursing, strengthen your critical-care skills, and care for complex patients in a supportive environment, this is an opportunity worth exploring. As an IMCU RN, you’ll provide comprehensive nursing care to patients who require closer monitoring and more advanced clinical care than a traditional medical-surgical setting.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in Wisconsin or eligibility through a compact license
  • BLS certification
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical assessment skills

Nice To Haves

  • New graduate RNs are welcome to apply
  • Experienced RNs with med-surg, telemetry, step-down, progressive care, IMCU, ICU, critical care, or similar experience are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care
  • Monitor patients closely and recognize changes in condition
  • Assess, prioritize, and respond to evolving patient needs
  • Care for patients with complex medical, neurological, trauma, and post-surgical conditions
  • Collaborate with physicians, CNAs, therapists, and other members of the care team
  • Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols
  • Develop and strengthen advanced assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Educate patients and families throughout the care process
