About The Position

The inpatient Registered Nurse assesses patients’ health problems and needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, and maintains medical records. The RN administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients and may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. Duties include maintaining accurate, detailed reports and records; administering medications while monitoring for reactions and side effects; and monitoring, recording, and reporting symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions. The position is with Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center on the Medicine/Surgery 6th Floor North.

Requirements

Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment, or hold a multistate RN license through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
AHA BLS certification before the end of the orientation period.

Responsibilities

Assess patients’ health problems and needs.
Develop and implement nursing care plans.
Maintain medical records and accurate, detailed reports.
Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients.
