About The Position
Paris Regional is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Surgery team. The nurse provides patient-centered care by carrying out specialized plan-of-care interventions and supporting safe, high-quality patient journeys. The position involves monitoring and documenting patients’ conditions, coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams, and advocating for patients’ physical and emotional well-being. The role also includes patient and family education, performance improvement, and continuing education.
Requirements
- Current state RN license.
- Associate degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience preferred.
- ASLS certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
- Document patient care and monitor patient condition, communicating with the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Coordinate patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
- Provide patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
- Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
