About The Position

UCF Lake Nona Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct, family-centered care to postpartum patients. The role provides multidisciplinary obstetrical care to low- and high-risk postpartum patients and normal newborns. The nurse monitors patient progress and prepares patients for discharge while collaborating with a supportive, multidisciplinary team. The hospital describes providing staffing support, technology, supplies, and ongoing clinical education to help nurses deliver safe, high-quality care.

Requirements

Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license; compact license holders must obtain a Florida license within 60 days after relocation.
NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor certification must be obtained within 30 days of start.
American Heart Association ACLS Provider-issued card required within six months of employment start.
Neonate Resuscitate certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of RN experience in an acute care environment is preferred.
A BSN is preferred.

Responsibilities

Collect comprehensive data pertinent to patients’ health or situations.
Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team.
Identify expected outcomes for individualized plans of care.
Ensure effective care and use of time, supplies, and equipment.
Educate patients about medications, procedures, and treatments.
Support patients and their families throughout their stay.
Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
Provide direct, family-centered care to postpartum patients, including low- and high-risk patients and normal newborns.
