Registered Nurse - Travel Flex

About The Position

The Travel Flex Nurse travels to various locations throughout Bluegrass Care Navigators’ service areas to provide nursing coverage as needed. The role requires cross-training and the ability to provide patient care in routine home care, inpatient units, and nursing facility environments. The nurse provides skilled, professional nursing care to patients, families, and caregivers as prescribed by a physician and in compliance with Kentucky State Board of Nursing regulations, patient needs, and Bluegrass Care Navigators’ policies and procedures. Care may take place in patients’ homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, or Hospice Care Centers. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with varied hours for coverage as needed. The role requires flexibility for a 24/7 operation and travel within defined service regions. An incentive of $48 per diem for each day worked is provided in addition to base pay.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing.
Current Registered Nurse licensure in Kentucky or a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
At least one year of general nursing experience.
Demonstrated clinical competence and ability to maintain professionalism during emotionally challenging situations.
Compassionate, respectful approach and experience serving diverse populations.
Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy, including principles of death and dying.
Current CPR certification.
Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and function effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
Flexibility and cooperation to meet patient needs, including availability for a 24/7 operation and travel within defined BCN service regions.
Willingness to provide care in private homes, nursing facilities, and inpatient units.
Ability to meet employment requirements, including satisfactory references and compliance with BCN employee health, infectious disease, and vaccination policies.
Licensed driver with an automobile in good working order and insured in accordance with state minimum requirements.
