About The Position

The Registered Nurse will work in the Medical ICU at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a high-acuity, 32-bed unit with a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio. The role involves performing advanced technical procedures and interventions, serving as a clinical liaison who translates complex medical plans into clear, compassionate language, and collaborating effectively with the care team, including through rapid response and initiative participation.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Registered Nurse credential from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained before hire or job transfer.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.
• One year of cumulative job-specific experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Previous inpatient experience in a stepdown unit or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced technical procedures and interventions using CRRT, ECMO, hypo/hyperthermia protocol, Level one rapid transfuser, Swan, and Stroke-related care.
• Act as a clinical liaison by translating complex medical plans into clear, compassionate language.
• Collaborate effectively with the care team, including participating in rapid response and initiatives.
