RN 2CD Neuro Intermediate FT Days
About The Position
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro Intermediate Unit (NIU) at Baptist Health Floyd. This is a full-time position (36 hours weekly) with day shifts (7 am-7 pm). The RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission to discharge, functioning as an on-shift team member to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers. The NIU is a 41-bed unit specializing in Neuroscience and Progressive Care (PCU) step-down nursing, providing high-quality care to adult patients with excellent nurse-to-patient ratios (3-4:1). The unit has 15 Neuro specific beds and 26 intermediate specific beds and operates as an interdisciplinary team. Common neuroscience cases include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizure/epilepsy, degenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, and central nervous system disorders. Baptist Health Floyd is a certified Primary Stroke Center and a Pathway to Excellence® designated organization.
Requirements
- Current Indiana or compact state RN or LPN license.
- BLS for healthcare provider required.
- ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
- NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
