About The Position

Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neuro Intermediate Unit (NIU) at Baptist Health Floyd. This is a part-time, nights position (24 hours weekly, 7pm-7am) and is benefit-eligible. Experienced applicants may be eligible for a sign-on bonus. The RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission to discharge, functioning as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers. The NIU is a 41-bed unit specializing in Neuroscience and Progressive Care (PCU) step-down nursing, providing high-quality care to adult patients with excellent nurse-to-patient ratios (3-4:1). The unit has 15 Neuro specific beds and 26 intermediate specific beds. It operates as an interdisciplinary team, supported by 24/7 leadership, including clinical coordinators and a stroke coordinator. Common neuroscience cases include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, TIAs, seizure/epilepsy, degenerative disorders, autoimmune disorders, and central nervous system disorders. The unit is a certified Primary Stroke Center and is recognized for its exceptional teamwork, clinical expertise, and supportive environment, welcoming new graduate nurses.

Requirements

Current Indiana or compact state RN or LPN license.
BLS for healthcare provider required.
ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 6 months of hire).
NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
