About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct, comprehensive nursing care to patients in an outpatient infusion and cancer care setting, from admission through discharge. The role involves planning, assessing, intervening, and evaluating patient care using an outcome-focused approach, including initial and ongoing assessments and interventions as indicated. The nurse involves patients, families, providers, and other members of the care team; reviews and documents care, outcomes, and evaluations; follows professional standards of care; and applies evidence, best practices, critical thinking, and experiential knowledge to bedside care. The nurse prioritizes care according to changing assessments and patient needs and communicates regularly with physicians and other hospital departments. This is a PRN position with varying shifts.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in Kentucky.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• ONS and Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification completed before the end of orientation.
• Oncology Certified Nurse certification within two years of hire.
• Crisis Prevention certification within six months.
