About The Position

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care in the Ashland Free Standing Emergency Department. The role includes assessing patient status, determining the priority of patients’ problems and needs, implementing clinical nursing interventions, and developing and performing patient care plans to improve outcomes. The nurse helps ensure a safe and therapeutic environment and cares for a broad range of patients, from short-stay cases to trauma, in a fast-paced, high-intensity setting.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited associate’s or bachelor’s degree program in nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
At least one year of professional experience practicing as a Registered Nurse.
BLS or ACLS and PALS certification preferred at hire; certification must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care. ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience is preferred but not required.
EPIC Electronic Health Record training is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
Care for groups of patients in a fast-paced, high-intensity setting as part of an interprofessional team focused on individual patient and population outcomes.
Evaluate, update, and revise plans of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
Serve as a point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments.
Provide care to a broad spectrum of patients, ranging from short-stay to trauma.
Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
