About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s), the RN provides patient education and activities in accordance with their competencies and education. The role calls for strong communication and critical thinking skills to support optimal patient outcomes. The position is 0.9 FTE and is scheduled for three 12-hour shifts, 0600–1830, with rotating weekends and holiday rotation. Wellpath offers ongoing training and development opportunities and clinical resources for training, education, and point-of-care support.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Maintain current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of employment.
Obtain and maintain CPR certification.
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of one year of clinic experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as needed.
Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed.
Count controlled substances and carry out clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Document nursing encounters using SOAP charting as required by policy.
Attend mandatory staff meetings and training.
Communicate information to nursing staff, physicians, health care unit supervisory personnel, or other staff as necessary.
Provide patient education and activities in accordance with competencies and education.
